Swazi's name is respected all over Africa for versatility, vocal range, and her unique ability to transform any song to a vocally charged spiritual experience. Her stylistic approach in marrying Gospel and Jazz remains unparalleled. Gospel Buzz cought up with the multiple award winning artist for a brief chat. Did you know she has the Metro, SAMA, and Kora Awards under her belt?

Do you mind sharing your age with us?
No I don't, I'm 38 and 40 looms closer by the day lol

How many albums do you have under your belt?
Three Jazz and three Gospel albums

What attracted you to Gospel Music?
I was born into it, Mum and Dad were church choir members Dad being a choir master mum a soloist

When did you realize that music was your path?
It's always been my life, nothing else I did as a young person brought me as much joy

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I'd describe it as MY REALITY, I write according to how I feel and the spiritual space I'm in at the time, the melodies are greatly influenced by my background of both jazz and gospel

Do you still have musical influences?
I guess I do, I don't allow them to define my sound though

Worship Enlightened, what inspired the album title?
Am a leader of the Tribe of Judah (Music Department) at a church called Enlightened Christian Gathering, the music I discovered there influenced my current sound, my Spiritual Father Major1 was a huge influence in my album and even song writing through his teaching

What’s next for you?
A tour to celebrate Gold status for the album, a first for me in all my albums, thereafter a treat in the form of a new album in Spring
